4/18/10 -- BRUNSWICK, Maine. Doug Kennedy and Mauka, 6, of Harpswell raced alongside competitors during the 7th annual 'Save Our Swinging Bridge 5K' on Sunday morning. Kennedy said, "I did it for the dog! " Runners aged 7- 73 ran ran across the 118-year-old Roebling-built suspension bridge, connecting Topsham and Brunswick between morning rain showers. Race Director Nancy Randolph said, "I guarantee the weather! And look - dry pavement for the runners!" Top finishers received restaurant coupons and accolades from fellow runners. Photo by Roger S.
