  • January 22, 2008 -- HYDE SCHOOL, BATH, Maine.  Hyde's Andrew Bogage makes a steal from Waynflete's Bill Ngoal late in the game. Hyde boys trailed Waynflete for nearly the entire game -- by as much as 10 points. But - with less than a minute to play, Hyde took the lead.   • 1/17/12 -- BRUNSWICK, Maine. Terry Amsted of Brunswick works in the L.L.Bean manufacturing facility in Brunswick on Tuesday after ceremonies to kick off the 100th birthday began with the unveiling of the Bootmobile. .Among other, company CEO Chris McCormick came on Tuesday to kick off the 100th anniversary celebrations -- and break in the size 747 boot for it's cross-country trip. The Bootmobile, a size 747 replica of the Maine Hunting Shoe, is made from fiberglass and mounted on top of a biodiesel-fueled truck. The plan is to drive it to New York and other places in the US to celebrate L.L.Bean's 100th year in business. The tour started Tuesday at the Brunswick Manufacturing facility where boots, bags, bikes and skis are assembled. McCormick said with a laugh,"Ooh, I'm not driving it. Imagine the headlines - CEO crashes Bootmobile." The bootmobile is piloted by Ian Bechtel of Portland Ore, a professional driver and tour operator. Photo by Roger S. Duncan. ..

  • 1/19/09 -- BRUNSWICK, Maine. Emily Teztlaff, 4, stops to chat with children's book author Charlotte Agell during an exercise in which children were asked to vote for their favorite season of the year. Agell and fellow author Rohan Henry visited the student union at Bowdoin College on Monday to share recent writings, exercises and games with children of all ages around the topics of voting and Martin Luther King Day. .Agell, of Brunswick, is author of Dancing Feet, I Wear Long Green Hair in the Summer and the recently released the young adult book, Shift. Henry, a teacher at Portland's King Middle School, read his manuscript of The Perfect Gift.   • Jan 2009 -- BATH, Maine.  Scott Adams plays the trumpet as a volunteer in "Natives Are Restless" group at the Chocolate Church Arts Center.  Besides playing local gigs, Adams is the director of the High School's Pep band. His day job is at the town office, where he is a code enforcement officer.   • January 17, 2009 -- BATH, Maine. Zumba teacher, Tony Garreton, dances a lead role in front of a class of students on Saturday afternoon at Huse School in Bath. Garreton, a native of Peru, teaches the dance as an aerobic exercise class in many places through the midcoast area.
